Wild Sonnet Sundays 5-31 | Dark Finds Its Way Into The City
|
Hello my friends, I am bringing back my Wild Sonnets Sundays series which features one of the newest poems, and am also moving platforms, from Substack to Kit (formerly ConvertKit). With that bit of housekeeping out of the way, here is Wild Sonnet #876: I have posted my audio reading for this work here. Poet’s Notes: I decided to compose the second stanza so that it mirrored the argument of the first, light for dark, natural for urban setting, etc. Of course, even our man-made environments are housed in the elemental construct of the cosmos, and I could not avoid this Wild Sonnet wanting to make its way back into the Greater Wilderness. My favorite line here would have to be the closing: It is the ink that tells us who we are. Thanks for spending a little of your Sunday with The Wild Sonnets. I’ll be back next week with something new to share. Until then, stay wild and stay well. Nicholas Korn The Poet of The Wild Sonnets |
